At What Age Is Grown-up?

This is a question I've been thinking about for a while now.  It started at the beginning of my first reunion when I started emailing my first mother.  At 22, I felt this odd, child-like sensation as I would tell her about my childhood and my favorite memories.  It's such a hard feeling to describe, feeling like a small child again looking for Mother's approval.  As time went on, that feeling faded, only to reemerge when I started talking to my first father, though not as bad the second time around.  Listening to other adult adoptees, it turns out that it's not completely unheard of, the regression I was feeling.

Being back at home with my parents has brought this question up again.  My mother does my laundry (her one household chore).  My parents refuse to accept rent from me (when I offered I was laughed at).  A lot of the same rules are in place for me now as when I was in high school, though in some areas I have a bit more freedom.  It's challenging to step back into that role and still maintain that I'm an adult (which I am).  But my parents don't see me that way, so it gets pretty complicated around our house sometimes.

I can own my own car like an adult, work like an adult, get paid like an adult, be treated like an adult when not with my family, but in the eyes of the state and in the eyes of my adoptive family, I'm still a child.  The state sees me as a child in that they won't give me my birth documentation.  Everyone else has theirs, I just can't get mine because they don't trust me as an adult to make what they see as the "right" decision.  My adoptive family (extended now) also sees me as a child, as witnessed this past weekend.

My uncle adopted two daughters later in life.  Their father died when they were young and he helped to raise them.  He was always their "dad" but nothing was official until both girls were in their 30's.  At that point, it was a step-parent adoption because he married their mother the day before they started the paperwork.  So my grandparents have eight grandchildren and four of us are adopted.

My older cousins do not act like cousins, or at least not in the way that I'm used to.  My family is very close.  We all get together on a regular basis (not just the holidays), call each other, support each other, and are there for each other.  My cousins don't call.  They bail on family parties.  They haven't called my mother once to see how she's doing.  They don't call my grandmother.  They don't act like her grandchildren.  So it's a sore spot in our family.  My uncle is insistent that they be treated like everyone else, but they don't treat the rest of us the way everyone else does.  If that makes sense.

My uncle threw a Christmas party last weekend.  A "family" party.  Which was a big deal because even though he lives less than an hour away, nobody's ever been to his house before.  So like an idiot, I called him to get the details.  I do all the planning in our house and I wanted to know what time so we could plan our weekend around it.  Well.  I was told that I wasn't invited.  I could go to a separate party with my cousins on another day.  It was a party for just his brothers and their wives.  Hm.  Ok.  Fast forward to the actual party.  My younger cousins never got the memo they weren't invited.  So they showed up.  I'm so glad that they did!  But here's the kicker.  My uncle's kids were there.  With their kids.  Who are teenagers.  So basically, my uncle threw a party for his brothers, their wives, and his family, and just excluded his nieces and nephews.  But because my cousins showed up, my entire family was there except for my sister and I.

So at 24, my uncle does not see me as an adult.  It was an "adult" Christmas party, yet at 24, and my cousin at 22, were not invited.  So at what age is grown up?  Eighteen?  Well, that included all the cousins with the exception of one.  Twenty-one?  Still includes my cousin and I.  Twenty-five?  Ok, that would make sense, but how do you come up with that number?  What can't I do at twenty-four that I can't do at twenty-five other than rent a car?

Adoptee triggers galore these days.  Seriously.  Not cool.

Picture Sunday: Week 6

Have I really been doing this for a month and a half?  Cool!  I got a new camera last weekend, so I've been having fun learning how to use it.  My old digital camera broke and I wanted a new one.  My parents gave me cold hard cash for my birthday and the camera I wanted was on sale.  I got a DSLR, so I've had to practice a lot and I'm still getting used to it.  I only have the money now for one lens but I'll eventually be able to buy a few more and really get into photography more, rather than just pointing my point-and-shoot at something pretty and hoping it comes out half way decent.

It's been a busy week, but all of these pictures are from my new camera.  I had to find things around the house, which isn't always easy, but I'm like a kid on Christmas morning with my new camera.  Which is loud.  So my parents keep asking why I take 100 pictures of the same thing because it's not quite right or the composition could be better, or the focus wasn't where I wanted it.  Go figure.

I know, not really an adoption related post, but I'm not giving this up for the stupid month of November.  It's too much fun!  And have fun with pictures of leaves.  At least it's not the beach!

We can't let the indoor plant feel left out...

These pictures are mine.  Ask before using them.  Thanks.

Post Visit Haze

I'm still in my post visit haze.  I think this one is going to take me a while to snap out of.  I don't know what to think.  My visit was mostly great.  We had a fantastic time.  I laughed for hours!  Funniest part?  We start talking about Catholic school (he and my first mother both went to Catholic school, and both of his other children go to Catholic school).  And I make a comment along the lines of "Well, you know what they say about Catholic girls" to which he replied "They can be corrupted easily..." and points to me.  Nearly died laughing.  As did he.  Maybe you had to be there...

I'm glad we're laughing about it.  Because honestly?  I'd rather laugh than cry.  And I'm trying to remember that lately.  I'm trying to choose to find the humor in situations and not take life so seriously.  It's really really hard to do, but I'm making an honest effort.

We had a pretty serious conversation towards the end of our visit.  Like, as hard as I was laughing earlier, I almost started crying.  Glad I was able to hold it together!  He said some really nice things, so things that completely caught me off guard, and a few things that were pretty heartbreaking.  I'll save that part of the day for a private post.  But ultimately, it was a great visit.  I got to show him around my town, which was fun, we got to hang out without worrying about other people, and he even got me the best card.

My first mother never emailed.  Or anything.  I was expecting that.  But I still hoped that I would be wrong.  I hate being right about some things.

Now I don't have to worry about my birthday for a whole other year.  And who knows what will happen a year from now?  This time last year I had just started emailing my first father.  And we're coming up on a year for the first phone conversation.  A year of phone conversations once a week (mostly) this week... wow!

This time next year I might have another big year mark.  We'll see.  I have a feeling my first father and my first mother are about to battle it out.  Wonder who will win?  I have a pretty good idea.  I hope I'm not right again...

One More Year and I'll Be Halfway to Fifty

I don't know what to write today.  I'm going to see my first father soon.  It's not like I haven't met him before.  It's just that I'm showing him a lot of my life today in my hometown.  On my birthday.  Weird.

Deep.  Breath.

I wonder if my first mother will acknowledge the day?  I could get an email from her.  That's a possibility.  He could bring a card that she could either sign, or he could sign it for her (I have her signature from her first letter so I do somewhat know her handwriting).  Or she could ignore it.  Birthday's are hard...

In.  Out.

Last year she could have forgotten.  I forgot her birthday (whoops!).  This year she has no excuse because he knows it's my birthday.  Unless he doesn't tell her.  But that wouldn't make any sense.  I just don't see him telling her that he's coming to visit me and omitting that fact.  Then again, the last two times he's come to see me they've gotten into huge fights (she's scared someone will see him with me and think he's having an affair so she doesn't like our "get together's").  So maybe he didn't tell her.  So we'll see.

In.  Out.

I probably won't blog about it for a few days.  I feel like I'm going to need some time to adjust, reflect, and relax.  Then again, maybe I will.  Blogging helps me to process.  It has for the past year.  It's the journal I never could manage to keep writing.  I think that for me, I need to know that there's a possibility that someone out there will read it.  I don't know why that is, I just know that it keeps me going, keeps me writing, and that writing helps me to process.  I'm in a much better place since I started blogging.  It really is cheaper than therapy, which I probably should be in but I don't have the time right now (I know, I should make the time).

In.  Out.

I was super stressed out about telling my adoptive mom about seeing my first father.  My mom was upset with me before because I wasn't sharing things with her.  She was upset because she felt like this was going to come between us because I wasn't telling her things that I normally would tell her.  Sometimes it's just about me, but she had a hard time grasping that fact.  Either way, I promised her that I would let her know when I was going to see him.  And then my adoptive father told me not to tell her.  Because it would stress her out.  Because I don't think he's ever talked to her about her feelings about the whole thing.  Ever.  This is based on conversations I've had with him where he's been 100% clueless and had he spoken to my mom about it, he wouldn't be.  So I was between a rock and a hard place.  I told her.  I was really casual about it.  I was scared she'd want to meet him.  Or she wouldn't want me to see him.  Her response to "Just so you know I'm going to see SinginInTheRain this week" was "Ok".  No drama.  No big deal.  All that worry and anxiety over nothing.

In.  Out.

Life is complicated.  But I'm learning to deal.  Next year I'll be half way to fifty.  Joy.  Quarter life crisis?  Happy to have one more year left!

In.  Out.

In.  Out.

In.  Out.

Goal for Tomorrow: Picture!

I've made it a point never to post pictures here.  I don't want to invade my first parents privacy.  And my rule of thumb is that if it's something that a family member of my first family (and therefore my family) could use to figure out that I'm talking about them specifically, then it shouldn't be on here.  At least not publically.  I know where most of them live.  And seeing as I haven't had any blog hits from those areas (though I do have one reader who lives somewhat close to my paternal family down south, as in they use the same airport but that's about it) I don't worry about that too much.  I'm pretty sure seeing pictures of Uncle SinginInTheRain and Aunt NeverTooLate would let the cat out of the bag.  So I don't post them here.  Pretty sure the picture on this post is the only one I've even posted of myself and you can't really see me in it (that's for my adoptive family...).

But I do have pictures.  Lots of them actually.  I have a bunch that NeverTooLate sent me.  Recently I've been getting a lot more from SinginInTheRain thanks to his new phone which he loves to use to take pictures (so they aren't great quality, but at least it's something).  The first pictures I'd seen of my first parents were posted on Facebook.  Go figure.  They were these tiny little previews on the main profile page.  I couldn't get to the bigger ones.  But seeing those pictures was amazing.  I'll never forget it.  For the first time, I saw someone I looked like.  Seriously, I looked like them.  I could see the facial structure.  I could see the hair.  I could see the eyes.  I could see me in both my parents.  It was incredible.

Then I started getting pictures from NeverTooLate.  Pictures of her, pictures of her parents, pictures of his parents, pictures of my siblings, a few of my uncle…  It was so amazing and I printed them all out.  I saved them, I have copies, and they are backed up in about four places.

As I've been coming "out" so to say to my adoptive family about my first family, they all want to see pictures.  So I have a bunch on my i.Pad.  I bring it with me to small family functions (which my adoptive parents don't attend) and show them a few of my favorites (which include a picture of SinginInTheRain and NeverTooLate when they were younger and a recent picture of the four of them).  My family is consistently struck by how much I look like them.  They see it too.

Then I started getting the videos.  I don't have every one of them saved yet, but I'm working on it.  I want to burn them on a DVD or something so I have at least some of the videos archived just in case.  Rudy is the only person to see those, but he was blown away by the similarities and the mannerisms.

My goal for tomorrow is to get a picture of me and SinginInTheRain together.  I've forgotten to take a picture at our other two visits.  Actually, that's a lie.  I had a camera, remembered, but was too scared to ask.  I was too scared that he'd say no.  It would be concrete proof right?  I'm going to ask him for a picture because it's my birthday.  I'm going to take it using my phone because that's less threatening.  I'm secretly hoping he asks for a picture first.  I doubt it but a girl can dream.

Preparations Part 2

Hope I'm not left out in the Cold!
See Part 1 Here

Yesterday's post was so long I had to break it up in two.  I'm preparing for my third visit with my first father.  Which happens to fall on my birthday.  This could go amazingly well, or really really wrong.  I'm trying to prepare for all the ways it could go wrong.

Now there are several things that could go wrong.  I'm being open about stuff right?  Well I know for a fact that my adoptive father has withdrawn his support.  He's taking everything out on me these days and I hate that, but there's not a lot I can do about it.  I'm the emotional punching bag, the person who stops him from exploding at my mother, and the peace keeper.  I hate that role but it is what it is.

I'm going to tell my mother about meeting up with SinginInTheRain because I promised her that I would.  I'm just going to wait until my dad isn't around.  Mentally, she's a lot more there now than she was a few weeks ago.  Like it's amazing the progress that she's made.  She's almost back to being her old self.  So while she might not remember, she'll almost defiantly remember if I don't tell her. So I'm going to keep my promise and let her know that I'm meeting up with him.  She might freak out and ask that I not go.  I highly doubt it, but it could happen.  More likely than not she'll just be like "Ok whatever" and that will be the end of it.  She might ask to meet him.  If that's the case, things could get complicated.  But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.  I'm not going to worry about that right now because I actually think her meeting him would be a good thing.  But I doubt it's going to happen.

My grandmother is going to be at my house for the day. You know, THAT grandmother.  Now I've sworn to be honest if I'm asked, but I can't see this ending well for me so I'm going to the "spa" as far as she's concerned.  Which is true because that's what I've decided to do after my visit.  I'm going to need to relax.  But there's a chance she might not come to hang out with my mom.  And because I have the day off, that would be bad because it's a lot harder to find a replacement for her if everyone knows I'm off.  Which they all do.  So if she doesn't show because her leg has been bothering her and she doesn't like driving, I might be stuck.  It's happened before.  The back up plan is to play the birthday card.  Hard.

"It's my birthday and I made plans to go to the spa!  I really was looking forward to this, can you PLEASE help me out and come watch Mom for a few hours?  I just really need a day for myself and it's my birthday and I need to relax."

It might work.  I hope.  Wow, rereading that I realize I need to clarify.  I love spending time with my adoptive mom.  But it's stressful and challenging.  I don't want to spend my birthday feeling stressed and challenged.  I'd rather be at work than watching my mom by myself all day (she sleeps a lot too so I'd have to keep busy doing other things by myself at my house... not so much fun).  I'm not a heartless witch.  I was told that I'm not allowed to hang out with my mom that day by my aunt who has become like a second mom to me through all of this.  Because she wants me to be relaxed and enjoy my birthday.  It's the one day of the year I get to make it all about me.  So I will.

I could naturally run into problems with my adoptive father.  Who knows where his mind is at these days?  He will probably be coming home to see my mom around the time that I'm leaving.  Because it's my birthday, there's a chance he might want to hang out with me or take me to lunch.  I highly doubt it, but it could happen.  Or he could run to the mall to get something for my birthday and I could run into him there.  It could happen.  How awkward would that be?

"Oh hi Dad.  What are you doing here?  Oh, shopping for my birthday?  Um, cool.  So this is SinginInTheRain, you know, the person I'm not supposed to talk about or mention in any way because you feel threatened?  Well, this is him!  We're having lunch, on my birthday...  So yeah.  Well, we're gonna go.  Me and my birth father [first father].  Love you!  See you at home for dinner!"

Yikes!  That would be bad.  But it's a possibility.  To avoid super awkward situations like this one, I'm going to let him know beforehand I think.  I'm waiting until he's calm.  After I talk to my mom.  So I'll know how she feels first, and then I'm just going to mention it to him.  But he's going to have to be alone.  And I have to have a game plan.  And I need to be prepared to run out of there quick.  And I need to be ready to laugh it off.  I need to be mentally prepared.  And I have to figure that all out QUICK because I'm seeing SinginInTheRain in a matter of DAYS. (Eee!)

Most likely out of all these scenarios is that I'm going to run into someone I know.  This is not just likely, I'd be floored if it didn't happen.  So I'm going to have to introduce SinginInTheRain to someone I know.  Which is going to be interesting because I've never done that before.  And it's going to get back to my parents.  That's just how my hometown is.  You know how there are all these little towns across America where everyone knows each other's business?  I think that we place these towns geographically in our minds in the southern part of the country, or the western part of the country, or at least I do anyway.  Turns out we have them in the East as well!  So that ought to be interesting.  I'm still working on wrapping my head around this one.

Why post about this?  Because I'm preparing for the worst.  I'm preparing for hell.  That way, if something does go wrong, I'll either have a backup plan already in place or at the very least, be mentally prepared for it.  So that's why I'm blogging about this.  Getting ready for failure.  Because then if things go wonderful, it's even better.

Fingers crossed!

Preparations Part 1

Iced Tea Anyone?
I apologize in advance if my posts are all over the place this week.  I'm in the upward climb of the next hill on this roller coaster so things are a bit crazy.  For starters, my birthday is next week.  Normally I'd be pretty depressed about this.  Actually, I probably will be pretty depressed about this in the afternoon.  But this year I'm getting to see my first father in the morning on my birthday!  So I'm really excited and it gives me something to look forward to.  I'm sure that after he leaves, I'll be in my post visit haze (which is awful) and then I'll start to realize that my first mother didn't email (though I'm hoping that maybe he'll remind her it's my birthday and she'll get on that… I can dream right?).  And then I'll go back to being sad because I won't know when the next visit is going to be.  We met for the first time in March, then again in May, and nothing since then.  So it's sporadic  and neither one of us knows what the right formula is.  The joys of the guessing game...

So that plan as of right now is to show my first father around my home town.  Important sites to see:
  1. The schools I went to - all five of them (unless I can't find one… the first school I went to is in the middle of a residential neighborhood and I was only five at the time so I have trouble finding it now).
  2. The churches I attended (and the one I still attend) - he's super Catholic and I'm sure would appreciate that seeing as that was a condition that he had when picking my parents.
  3. Where I used to play sports (soccer and softball) - he's really into sports and coaches my sisters' teams so he would probably appreciate seeing these places.
  4. My street (and therefore my house from the street) - I don’t think he's going to be able to meet my mom because sometimes you don’t want to poke the bear (i.e. my dad) when you don’t have to.  Then again, I'm giving HER the choice because it's her life but I don't see her being up to it.  And my grandmother will be at the house… There's just a whole lot that could go wrong here…
Then we'll go back to the mall where I'm going to have him park his car and we can get lunch there.  I had a minor freak out about lunch.  This mall is sort of high end.  So even getting lunch there is expensive.  Not super super expensive, but expensive enough.  I don't mind paying for it because a) there's nothing else around and b) I have a job that pays so I don't mind.  My first father has a stricter budget that I do.  So it's a bit harder for him.  The first time we went out to eat I ordered a bagel.  So I didn't feel weird about him paying.  The next time we met up, he bought me an iced tea.  Again, not a big deal.  But a larger lunch would make me feel uncomfortable.  And there are no "small" lunches at this mall.  And we could try somewhere else, but there's seriously not a lot around that's cheap.  So I'm going to have to try to figure something out.  It's also my birthday, so I know he's not going to let me pay (for both of us or even for just me).

After lunch, he's going to head back home.  We don't have an absolute time line yet.  Earlier works better for him.  He has stayed until one in the afternoon before, so I'm hoping for a ten to one type of thing.  Three hours would be amazing.  Not sure if he can take that much time out of his life though.  That sounds horrible, but I get that he's really busy and that he has to sort of lie about where he is for the day.  He has to tell KungFuPanda that he needs the car for the day and make something up.  I'm not trying to make excuses for him, but it's not really his fault that the girls don't know about me yet.  And that this is a huge secret.  It's complicated and it's not just him that has to make the decision to tell them.  So I'm ok with that for now (or maybe I will be if I keep writing that out).

We'll see how this goes.  There's a lot that could potentially go wrong.  Stay tuned!

Birthday Visit Back On!

I spent yesterday feeling pretty sorry for myself.  The truth is, I hadn't heard from my first father other than a text or two over the week.  I haven't talked to him in over a week, and he wasn't getting back to me about my birthday.  I got a text on Monday saying it probably wasn't going to happen, and no mention of it again in the email that he sent this week (which I got yesterday).  So it was frustrating because I was supposed to technically tell my boss by Wednesday if I needed the day off.  So yesterday hit, I hadn't asked for the day, hadn't heard anything new, and figured that there was no way we were going to be able to make things work.  Cue the chocolate.  Sorry Halloween kids, you have a few less Kit Kat bars to choose from this year.

I decided around five o'clock as I was leaving work that I was going to stop feeling sorry for myself.  I was going to pick myself back up and move forward with my life.  Why not take my birthday off anyway?  My first father offered to meet me for lunch where I work so I could still see him without taking a whole day off.  He probably only has a few hours free anyway, so why waste a whole day on that?  I could take my birthday off, hang out with my mom for a few hours, get a massage, and maybe do a little shopping.  I could keep busy enough not to remember what I was missing.  Also, maybe if my first father was stuck at home without a car he could Skype me or something.  That might be fun.  So I picked myself back up, went and got a new haircut (jury's still out on that one) and ate some chocolate.  My favorite TV show came on (Grey's Anatomy, just wish they'd take the adoption story line out), and I was feeling better.  Not fantastic, but a lot better.  And then I got the text.

"Set the date, I can make the 26th!"

So now I AM going to get to see my first father on my birthday.  I have a nice boss.  I'm sure he'll let me take the day off.  It's still over a week before the day and I'm the new kid so maybe he'll go easy on me.  I'm hoping anyway.  So fingers crossed it will all work out alright.

Plans for the day:

Meet at the mall near me because he can park his car there, it's easy to find, and it's a fun place to hang out for a bit (plus I spend a lot of time there).

Go for a drive around my hometown.  Show him where I went to school, where I played soccer, where I used to hang out with my friends (this should take all of about ten minutes because my town is tiny).

Go back to the mall and get lunch.  Most defiantly get some sort of cake for dessert.  There's a Whole Foods there with killer desserts so I'm pretty excited.

So I'm really looking forward to my birthday now.  Like seriously looking forward to it!  Yay!  Doing the happy dance now :-)

Birthday Disappointment

I love cake...
I've held off writing this post because I didn't want to jinx anything.  I didn't post it, and then things changed anyway.  So as par for the course, I got disappointed again.  Not so much fun.

The last two times I've meet up with SinginInTheRain, we've had a few issues.  The first time, his car broke down.  Then he had something at KungFuPanda's school.  And I can't forget the snow storms that we had to deal with.  So ultimately, our visit got pushed back nearly a month.  Frustrating?  Yes.  Unavoidable?  No.  The next time things were pushed back because of me.  We picked a date and I was all set, but my sister bailed on watching my mom so I could "go out" for the afternoon.  My mom ended up in the hospital the next week so we met up that week instead.

So I'm used to our plans changing.  I asked him to meet up again, and he suggested my birthday.  He thought it would be nice to see me on my birthday.  I was all for it and got really excited about it.  I keep telling myself not to get excited because things kept changing before, but I did anyway because I'm a masochist.  Go figure.  Anyway, sure enough, he's having car troubles again.  One of the cars is going to be in the shop and my first mother needs the one working car for the day, I'm guessing to pick the kids up from school which if he's hanging out with me an hour away wouldn't be possible.  There's a chance the car will be fixed, but I'm not optimistic.  And it doesn't even matter because I would have needed to tell my boss by yesterday if I wanted to get the day off (we have to notify two weeks before we take a vacation day).  I mean, maybe if things changed within the next few days it wouldn't be a big deal... but still.  Probably not going to happen.

My birthday is now even more officially going to suck.  Worse than normal suckage.  Like worst birthday ever suckage.  And lets not forget my 18th birthday when my friends forgot, my 21st birthday when I couldn't even drink and nobody threw me a party, or my birthday last year when I was ignored by my first mother and my first father had no clue it was even my birthday.  This year is going to take the cake (no pun intended).  Here's why :
  1. My adoptive mom makes a huge deal out of birthdays.  She isn't going to remember my birthday this year.  I know this because she has a HUGE problem with dates and time.  She doesn't know what year it is, or what day of the week, even if you try to tell her and explain it to her.  She can't even tell you her own birthday if you give her hints.  So even though she always made a HUGE deal about my birthday (balloons, big birthday dinners, notes in my lunch, random voicemails throughout the day, signs hung out outside of my room, etc) she won't be able to do that this year.  Oh well...
  2. My first mother won't acknowledge the day.  I had high hopes for last year because for the first time, she had a way to wish me happy birthday.  Yes, things were really weird.  Yes, she was not happy with me.  But never the less, I would have thought a simple "Happy Birthday" email would have been in my inbox.  But I got nothing.  So even though things are slightly better this year, I don't think I'm going to get an acknowledgement.  So happy happy joy joy.
  3. My adoptive father won't make up for my mom not remembering.  He's just not that kind of guy.  He'll get me a gift from my parents and from my sister (I haven't gotten anything from her other than a lame card for the past two years) but that's about it.  My mom is his main focus and pretty much the only thing he focuses on these days.  Which is fine, don't want to sound like a selfish brat.  But at times it gets a bit much when clearly we aren't doing all that well with things either.
  4. Rudy is three hours away.  And he will be for my birthday.  It's the first birthday in five years that I won't be spending with him.  I'm going to go eat a tub of ice cream now... Oh wait, I can't eat ice cream.  I guess that means I'm eating any chocolate I can get my hands on...
  5. I was excited to get to see my first father for my birthday.  Like so excited.  It would have made up for all the other items on this list.  Now, I'm just going to sit around at work on my birthday (because I was going to take the day off to see SinginInTheRain) and think about how things were supposed to be different.  Not so much fun.
Can it just not be my birthday this year?  I'd really really like that.  If that can happen, then I've got two weeks to figure out a way to disappear on that day.  Time to get creative!

Wishes Checklist

Here are a bunch of things that I wish for.  In no particular order.  And it's just a partial list.  But it's still a list
