" Children are not objects that should be given away. In her mind, your grandchildren are family and if your child cannot take care of him/her, you step up if you are able." yes so true! tottaly posting this on my FB status (& giving you credit.) and will prob piss some people off. somebody has to make a stand for kids!
ReplyDeleteOf course they do and I'm so sorry they didn't.Hope you get to deal with it how you need to, good wishes, Von
ReplyDeleteI used to cringe when I would see adoptees say that they were "lucky" that they got the ap's they did. I don't anymore. Adoption is a crapshoot, and your mentor's son in law is another stat to back that up. If an adoptee does get assigned good ap's, then they ARE lucky, because many of us do not. Im glad your mentor gets it. Its nice when that happens.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice when that happens. I think it's a learning curve. I think I didn't get upset about her telling me I was lucky was because she was basing that off of facts, like the fact that her SIL had crappy parents and I didn't. It wasn't just a blanket statement, it was an observation. What a difference that makes. I am lucky, considering what others have gone through. It really is a crapshoot.
